The Victoria Business Owners Association (VBOA) is a 501 c(6) non-profit organization and was formed in January 2010 with three objectives in mind:

  • Promote/Sponsor VBOA Community Events
  • Promote Local Business for Economic Development
  • Philanthropically Support the Community Projects within Victoria

In the fall of 2009, working with the SW Metro Chamber of Commerce, the business owners held a very successful “Victoria Christmas” event in downtown Victoria, pulling many people downtown to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.  The resounding response was “let’s do more of these events;” grass-roots business development.  Local business owners realized that an expansion of critical local business development activities could be folded into this prospective organization.  Envisioned was an organization similar to those of downtown Excelsior and 50th & France.  Funds derived from activities would be used to drive philanthropic projects for the Community. We found that local businesses wanted a new business development solution where they could pool their resources in pursuit of shared advertising and promotion of Victoria Commerce. Victoria business owners wanted to grow Volksfest, and bring a focus to the “Art Fair” component recently added to the slate of event activities. Thus, the VBOA was born.
